Versatile tillage equipment has been proven over hundreds of thousands of acres and five decades of groundbreaking expertise have been used to develop the adaptable and rugged Versatile Viking.

The vertical tillage tool will cut, chop and size difficult residue in the most demanding ground conditions while at the same time mixing the residue into the top 1" to 5" of soil. The Versatile Viking is designed for multi-season tillage thanks to an adjustable gang angle that can work through spring seedbed preparation and fall residue management with ease. Customize the implement to perform in a wide range of field and soil condition with gang angles that can be manually or hydraulically adjusted from 0-12° in 4°increments.

Features may include:

• Use a shallow angle to prepare a seedbed. Lightly tilling the soil cuts and spreads residue evenly. This mix of soil and residue promotes decay while nutrients are brought forward. The opened soil surface lets in air flow which allows excess moisture to escape as well as aiding in the warming of the seedbed to promote rapid emergence.

• Use a more aggressive angle for maximum residue management. The Viking VT shows its versatility by being able to perform light primary tillage operations in a wide variety of soils, promoting the breakdown of residue and incorporating trash into the top layer of soil to reduce over-winter erosion.

• The heavy-duty SoilRazer™ VT blades stay sharp even as they wear due to their unique fluted design. The shallow concavity sawtooth blades capture and cut even the toughest residue. The blades deliver exceptional clod crushing ability and become more aggressive as the cutting edge wears. The blades are built with boron steel to last longer and maintain sharp edges throughout the entire wear zone. Choose between the 8" or 9" (203 or 229 mm) blade spacing to best match depth and field residue.

• The Versatile Viking is available with either 8" or 9" spacing which is unique in the industry. The 8" spacing results in residue being cut or sized into smaller pieces. 9" spacing is more suitable when higher amounts of residue are present or deeper working depth is desired.

• All blades on the Versatile Viking are an impressive 1/4" (6.5 mm) thick, surpassing the industry standard of 1/5" (5 mm).

• Every operation has its own unique set of conditions. The Versatile Viking provides many options and can be configured to best suit specific needs. Varied results can be achieved by working shallow versus deeper, with smaller or wider blade spacing, smaller or larger blades, and by the angle of the gang.

Shallow working depth:

• To keep more stubble standing to trap snow and prevent air drill plugging; ideal for small grain crops

• Allows for a faster working speed.

• Can fit into a no-till operation by cutting up trash with minimal soil disturbance.

Deeper working depth:

• A deeper working depth will move more soil vertically and laterally allow a greater residue mix with the soil.
